Mahindra Thar Roxx is Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2025

Mahindra Thar Roxx has been adjudged the Indian Car of the Year (2025). It beat the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Maruti Suzuki Swift to claim the honour. Mahindra’s SUV put up quite a fight to grab the top spot on the podium in a year filled with numerous car launches including the Tata Curvv, Tata Punch EV, BYD eMAX7, Citroen Basalt and of course the Maruti Swift and Dzire.

Launched on August 15, 2024, the Mahindra Thar Roxx is a five-door version of the Thar SUV. It is available with both petrol and diesel engines, both of which come with RWD configuration as standard, but only the latter gets 4WD. It has a significantly upgraded list of features, including a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, wireless phone mirroring, a sunroof, and an LED lighting package.The Thar Roxx has been a huge success for the Indian manufacturer, with over 1.76 lakh bookings received within an hour of the price announcement. There is currently a waiting period of over a year with significantly higher demand for the petrol range
