Samarth is a simple word that means talent and power. The initiative aims to make a change so that the world can celebrate people with disabilities at their true potential. Mobility for modern cars is more than just cars or trucks. Mobility represents both the essence of human progress and the right to unlock the final door to a world of opportunity. It is an extension of what the company has been doing for decades, believing that people with different abilities or disabilities should have equal opportunities in the world.
Why Samarth
India has many cultures and peoples and it is not easy to find one or more disabled people. According to the 2011 census, there are approximately 26.8 million disabled people, which is 2.21% of India’s population. Disability rights activists and other social workers argue that the census figures are a small fraction of the real data. The World Bank’s data for India puts the number at 400-80 million. Evidence from international sources suggests that the number of disabled people in India is very high compared to other developed economies. Although the majority of India’s population is disabled, their lives are very difficult.
Despite some efforts and challenges, India still lags behind in providing infrastructure for the disabled. It is time for us to work together to create an atmosphere for the disabled and break down barriers to change the negative attitudes towards the disabled into something better and to make them more knowledgeable about their own characteristics, skills and expertise. Right.
This initiative is a step towards changing this behavior by solving problems and providing solutions.
Samarth Assistive Devices Programme
