Tata Motors confirmed the return of the Sierra model by showcasing an electric vehicle concept at the recent auto show. The carmaker will soon make this a reality by showcasing the production version at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo. We expect this electric version to go on sale in India by mid-2025 and the ICE derivatives after that. Here’s everything we can expect from the Tata Sierra EV at the upcoming event in January.
Exterior:
Introduced at the recent auto show, the Sierra was already known for its looks. Recently, the production version was also spotted being tested, suggesting that there are not many changes to its styling. However, the Sierra EV and its ICE version models differ slightly, with the EV version having unique styling elements. In addition, the large rear window of the original Sierra has not been retained, but has been reproduced only in terms of design and style.
Interior:
The Sierra EV is expected to be Tata Motors’ most feature-packed modern vehicle yet. As such, it will be equipped with a host of modern features including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and dual-zone climate control. It will also feature a Level 2 ADAS suite and possibly a dual infotainment setup.
Powertrain:
The new Sierra EV is expected to be based on the brand’s Acti.EV platform. The latter gives the automaker the option to offer both all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD). As of now, Tata Motors has also revealed the battery specifications. Either way, the Sierra EV is expected to be offered in single- or dual-motor configurations, offering a range of around 500 km on a single charge.
