Latest: Maruti Suzuki is likely to discontinue diesel Swift in India in 2020. Details here.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Prices & Variants: The Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback has a starting price of Rs 4.99 and the most expensive variant is priced at Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in four variants - L, V, Z and Z+.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Engine: The Swift is offered with a choice of two engines - a 1.3-litre diesel engine that puts out 75PS and 190Nm, and a 1.2-litre petrol motor that generates 83PS and 113Nm. Both engines are available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT.
The petrol variant of the Swift claims an ARAI-certified mileage of 22kmpl, while the diesel variant has a claimed fuel efficiency of 28.4kmpl. We’ve driven both versions of the Swift with both the manual and AMT options. Read our first drive review to know more about how they perform.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Features: The Swift is a well-equipped hatchback, particularly in terms of safety. It comes with dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across the range. However, in a recent test conducted by Global NCAP, the Swift scored a dismal 2-star rating in adult as well as child occupant safety.
Other features on offer include auto LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), tail lamps with LED brake lights, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear parking sensors with parking camera, electrically folding and adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), automatic climate control, and push-button start. However many of these comforts are restricted to the higher variants.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Rivals: The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift takes on likes of the Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Ford Freestyle.
